Plant for Optics is located in the west side of Panagyurishte, a town with fundamental traditions in the Bulgarian optic production. Panagyurishte is located at the foot of the Sredna Gora mountain. The town has a rich history, it was a center of the Bulgarian Renaissance in 19-th century. In 1976 the town became the capital of the First Great Parliament organized in the Oborishte countryside which promulgated the Rebellion against the Turkish Empire. The Rebellion burst out in April, 1876, and after 10 days of unequal fi ght against the empire, it was cruelly cruched. Panagyurishte is a town with about 20 000 inhabitants, with developed industry and tourism. You can visit us traveling by car on highway E80 in south-east direction from Sofi a to Plovdiv, turning aside to Gelemenovo direction and the distance is about 130 km. If you want to use the shorter route through the mountain, 90 km long, you should turn aside to Vakarel direction.
